How long does it take to cool?
  • Chill Lite (0.3HP): 27 hours (23°C → 5°C)
  • Chill Max (0.6HP): 10.6 hours (23°C → 5°C)
  • Chill Pro (1HP): 6.5 hours (23°C → 5°C)

First-time cooling takes the longest, but once at your desired temperature, the chiller only runs as scheduled. KOUD Pro may only need to run 1-2 hours per day, depending on climate and usage.

What’s the difference between Chill Lite, Chill Max, and Chill Pro?
  • Cooling Speed: Chill Pro is 4x faster than Chill Lite

Can I use it outdoors?
  • Yes, KOUD Ice Baths and Chillers are designed for outdoor use.
  • The KOUD Edge tub is IPX-6 rated, meaning it can withstand strong water jets and heavy exposure to water. The KOUD Chillers are IPX-4 rated, meaning they are resistant to splashing water from any direction.
  • Chillers can be kept outdoors, but we highly recommend placing them in a shaded area to improve efficiency and extend their lifespan. Ideally, keep them under cover to protect from direct sunlight, heavy rain, and pooling water.

Do I need to add ice?

No ice needed – KOUD chillers do the work for you

How does KOUD perform in hot climates?
  • KOUD Chillers use heat pump technology (like air conditioners) and are designed to perform in a wide range of environments
  • The hotter it is, the less efficient chillers are
  • Chill Max & Chill Pro perform significantly better in hot climates due to higher power & larger fans

Can I use the KOUD Chill Pro Chiller for commercial use?
  • KOUD Chill Pro is built for residential use but can handle light commercial use.
  • For full commercial setups, contact us for our 2HP+ range.

Are your temperature readings legit?

Yes, we know, this is a common complaint in the industry. Many water chillers display temperatures lower than they actually are. We've tested chillers from multiple manufacturers and experienced this first-hand.

When we had a KOUD Edge full of water reading 3.7°C on a competitor’s chiller, we switched the hoses over to a KOUD Chill Pro, and it read 4.5°C, the same as our digital thermometer.

We did the opposite test, our KOUD Chill Pro was reading 2.7°C with the KOUD Edge full of water, then we connected it to a competitors chiller, and it read 1.8°C.

So, you could have a KOUD Chill Pro actually delivering 2.7°C, or a competitor delivering around 4.5°C but saying it’s 3.7°C - even though both chillers are set to 3°C and priced similarly.

KOUD chillers read true to temperature, so you know exactly what you’re getting.

How much does it cost to run?

$0.25 - $1 per day, depending on:

  • How long you run the chiller
  • The ambient temperature
  • Ice bath usage

Using ice would cost $50+ per plunge!

  • To cool 450L from 23°C (tap water) to 3°C, you’d need 7-10 bags of ice (at $5–$7 per bag).
  • That’s $50+ every time you plunge, compared to just cents per plunge with KOUD.

How often do I need to change the water?

What is an ozone generator, and how does it help keep my water clean?

KOUD Chill Pro features a built-in ozone generator, which helps keep your water clean, clear, and fresh for longer.

How it works:

  • The ozone generator produces O3 (ozone) gas, which naturally sanitizes the water.
  • Ozone breaks down bacteria, viruses, and organic contaminants without harsh chemicals.
  • This reduces the need for frequent water changes and helps maintain crystal-clear water with minimal effort.

Why is this better than traditional filtration?

  • Unlike chlorine, ozone leaves no chemical residue – just clean water.
